Description of Services: Specialized inpatient unit offering

  • family-centered care
  • crisis stabilization
  • linkage to ongoing services to meet the needs of children or youth and their family
Most inpatient stays are either:
  • 24 to 48 hours, for those who need short-term support to resolve a crisis; or
  • a few days or more, for those whose mental health difficulties need to be assessed and diagnosed, and treatments recommended
Requirements
Fees: Set fees * Covered by the Ontario Health Card
Eligibility - Population(s) Served: Children and youth 17 years and under with complex and severe mental health issues
Application: In-patients services: Go to the Emergency Department * a Regional Psychiatric Emergency Team member will assess the patient and recommend admission to an in-patient unit, if required
